Errata: Since this box was placed there have been some changes to the park. For some reason park management has labeled all trails as uni-directional (one-way) which may make some sense when skiing or riding a horse, but for hiking it doesn't make any sense to me. This box is placed on a loop trail with boardwalks and the no-biking sign used to be at the other end of the loop. Things are kind of reversed. Be sure you know what a Hemlock tree looks like. Dinosaur feet are firmly planted in the ground, not sticking up in the air. What you seek is not on a boardwalk, but near one end of a boardwalk.

This box was planted for the 2007 Michigan Fall Gathering, "It’s a Wing Thing," at Pigeon Creek Park in West Olive, MI. A trail map is recommended and can be obtained from the Ottawa County Park Commission. Excellent trail maps are also posted at the park at all trail intersections.

Getting There

U.S. 31 north from Holland or south from Grand Haven. East on Stanton for about 3 miles to the park entrance.

Clues…

From 11 – the Red way (Pink would have been better)
A choice – hike with no bike
Don’t get stoned
Past the stump that points to the sky (if it hasn't fallen down)
Stop under a Hemlock umbrella (a large Hemlock tree firmly planted in the ground)
From the tree with the dinosaur foot, 21 paces at 29
Tic, tac, toe…the sty’s in the middle
