Peace Plaza LbNA #42657 (ARCHIVED)

It has been brought to our attention that the Peace Plaza can be very "busy" particularly in the summer. One letterboxer that had contacted us mentioned that they pretended to be picking up garbage as a cover for what their real activity was! I thought this was a great idea and wanted to share it with any other letterboxers searching for our letterbox in the future so as to keep our letterbox a secret!!

We're hidning our first letterbox!! Yeah!! The first one we found was last May at Starved Rock Lodge. We've also found boxes in the Lake Geneva area and at the Sinnissippi Greenhouse area in Rockford. We are hooked!
The Peace Plaza is located in Rockford between McFarland and Perryville just south of Riverside Blvd. You enter the plaza parking lot off of McFarland just a block or two south of Riverside. You can't miss the flags. Once you park, walk to the south end of the parking lot. There is a planter bed on the south end of the parking lot which is level with the parking lot and above the "sister gardens". On the left/East end of the planter bed is four limestone boulders/rocks. Between the two boulders farthest to the left/East you will find your prize!! This is not a difficult letterbox. We know all too well how disappointing it is to not be able to find a box! We want you to find it! We'd love for you to leave us a note which includes where you have traveled from.
************************************************************We have had a reported incident of the box not being placed far enough back in under the rock. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTAINER IS NOT VISIBLE AT ALL FROM ANY ANGLE! Thanks!
