Come on to Chincoteague Island via Route 175. After crossing the bridge, turn left on Main Street, heading north. You will pass Chincoteague High School on the right. Turn onto the first road on the right after you pass the High School. This is Hallie Smith Drive.

Travel less than a mile. Look for the Chincoteague Walking Trail on your right. Pull into the parking lot. The trail makes a loop. Enter the trail on the left side.
Walk a short distance. When the trail curves to the right, you will see a large tree on the right with a thick vine curling up its side. Just off the trail, behind the tree with the vine is a stump. Wading for supper is located behind the stump.

Please cover the box with pine needles. Be discreet on this popular dog walking trail. Wear mosquito repellent!

As you exit the parking lot, note the marshes and canals with pencil necked birds wading for supper!
