Clues:
Make your way to Silver Bay, NY. Take NY State Thruway to exit 24. Traveling north, make a right off the exit. Traveling south, make a left off the exit. Follow this road (Rte. 11) to the end. Lake George will be directly in front of you. Make a left at the light onto Rte. 9N North toward Hague. You will be on this road for approximately 11 miles traveling over Tongue Mountain until you see civilization. At that point, you will pass a lovely scenic view stop on the right.

Stay on 9N and travel through Sabbath Day Point towards Hague. After approximately 2 miles you will pass the Northern Lake George Resort (which used to be the Silver Bay Lodge many, many years ago). Shortly after that you will see a sign on your right for the Silver Bay Association. Turn off onto that Road (Silver Bay Road). There are two other entrances to this area that will take you to your destination. If you are traveling South on Rte. 9N you can reach the other end of Silver Bay Road further north where the Silver Bay General store is located. Either entrance is fine.

Drive down to parking lot on the lake side of the road in front of a brown building with two stone columns which is the dining hall. You can also park in front of the chapel next to the tennis courts.

Begin walking south on the road. The lake will be on your left. On a sunny day, if you look to the left you will see how the bay got its name. Notice the number on the mailbox in front of the chapel. You will need this number later on to find your prize.

Walk past a labeled white pine and American elm. Walk past Spruce, Cherry and Hickory cabins. You will see a sign that says Bay View Lodge parking on your right. Also, notice a shagbark Hickory Tree. Walk up to the Horn Memorial Sanctuary to your right.

Proceed through the unique branch-lined trail. You will see marker numbers along the way. You will need to subtract the number 101 from the mailbox number found earlier to know which marker number to proceed to. Hint you must first cross over a creek via a wooden bridge. Mailbox number - 101 = Marker to stop at

Once at this marker, turn around and backtrack on path 25 paces. There will be a twin birch on your right. Beyond that is a bunch of fallen trees. Find the box there. Remember to hide it well after you are finished. After you are finished, you may finish the walk through the path as it makes a loop around to where you began. (Either way takes about the same amount of time).

Hope you enjoyed this search.
