This is a very easy, very beautiful walk. It is on an smooth, level, accessible path, good for wheelchairs and strollers.
The people who named the streets in Minneota decided several of them should honor U.S. presidents. From East 1st St (Hwy 68) head northeast on the one that was named after the president whose wife was a real Dolley. Drive until there's no more street, and park in front of the apartments. Head west on the asphalt trail (the entrance is marked by a map of Minneota).
As you walk along, you will pass a horse arena on the right, and two benches where you can sit to rest if you'd rather look at trees than horses. Keep on going, cross the gravel road, and continue down the path.
As you cross the bridge, admire the view, and keep on going.
In a few minutes, you will get a chance to cross the river again. Stop at the edge of this second bridge. Look down at the left end of the first plank. You will see a small hole where it attaches to the steel bridge supports. The letterbox is hidden inside.
If you decide not to continue any farther along this beautiful path, at least walk out onto the brige and admire the view looking north on the Yellow Medicine River. It's quite a sight.
