Please bring an ink pad for this one!
Did you know that nearly 1 in 3 of all women report being victims of domestic violence during some point in their lives? Its a terrifying statistic. Domestic Violence is a cause that means much to us as survivors, and place this box in support and dedication of all those other victims and survivors of DV.
Location: Franconia Notch State Park Multi-Use Trail, Route 93 to Lafayette Place Campground
EASY WALK. Perfect for a bicycle or stroller, or a "recovery hike" after a major mountain climb, which is what we were doing when we placed this! If you do this at dawn or dusk, you might catch a glimpse of a moose or a beaver.
Directions:Start up the Franconia Notch State Park Multi-Use Trail from the parking lot by the campground entrance. You will cross a bridge, and notice the beavers have been busy building lodges and dams!
You will pass Pemi Trail on your right. After a short while, you will come to a lovely rest area with a picnic table on your left. There is a boulder across from the table, about 3 feet high. From there, count 179 paces to the box.
You will pass, during that time, a curve in the path toward the left, and a white birch tree missing a stripe of bark about 3 feet wide on your left. From that tree, the box is 35 paces ahead on the right. You will see a rather nondescript birch with an exposed root system, about 5 feet from the path. Check in among the roots for your prize. It should have two vertical logs blocking the hidey hole in which we placed this box.
Please stamp in and place back where it was. Place the two vertical logs to facilitate others finding this!
If you get to a large rock on the right, you have gone too far, and backtrack about 10-15 feet. Enjoy !
