After reading a book a few months ago I decided to carve 4 ambigrams. An ambigram is a graphical figure that spells out a word not only in its form as presented, but also in another direction or orientation.

To find the location we will start with some “letters written anew” (an anagram)
Chaparral Breaking Sumo

Park in the lot at the south end of the park, past the equestrian turnoff road.

Box 1: It passes before the sun and makes no shadow.
What am I?

See the Light.
Think magnetically.
Lift up into the air.

Box 2: You feed it, it lives, you give it something to drink, it dies.
What am I?

At the end of the parking lot the trail begins by the building. Head north at the fork.
After the broken sign on the left with only 5 mi left, take 70 steps more to a small trail on the left.
Head up the hill to a leaning 3 trunk tree. Look at the base for a big baked potato.

Box 3: There are four brothers in this world that were all born together:
The first he runs and never wearies,
The second eats and is never full.
The third he drinks and is ever thirsty,
And the fourth sings a song that is never good.
Who are we?

Continue to the highest point on the trail.
Look for a small path on the left that leads to leafy bushes and trees. At eye level in the back of the closest tree/bush should be leaves that don't belong.

Box 4: Runs smoother than any rhyme, loves to fall but cannot climb!
What am I?

Continue on the trail a little longer as it heads downhill. Look for a shortcut trail on the right and take it.
Follow the narrow trail to the Arroyo Seco picnic area straight ahead.
Count 20 posts from the north end of the fence. Between 20 and 21 look across the creek. Look at the base of a 4 trunked tree under rocks at the base.

If it was me (ps what I did) was continue on the asphalt trail south to where I left my car at the south end. Also we planted on a weekday and did not have to pay the $6 parking fee!

As always please rehide boxes carefully and discretely. Please contact me if there are any concerns. Happy Hunting!

Hike Length: 1.0 miles
