The Polar Plunge is a yearly event held all over the state in the dead of winter. This is a fundraiser to raise money for Special Olympics. Some people dress in costume and run into a frozen body of water and run back out. Well, this clown did her first plunge back in 2007. It was so cold that winter that they had to break the ice before we went in. It is a great event that raises a lot of money for a great cause.

This stamp did make its first appreance at the first Silo gathering in 2007.

It now has a permanent spot on the lake where the polar plunge is done in Rockford, IL. Head to Rock Cut State Park and make your way to the smaller of the two lakes there, Olson Lake. Park in the lot and start your journey in the south east corner of the parking lot. Head down the grassy trail. Soon you will come to a left, take it. At the next choice take anouther left, and anouther, and anouther, and one last one. Head up hill. On top of the hill you will see a small trail to your right. Go between two metal posts, and then between two trees. To your right you will see a multi-trunk tree, look in the middle for the box. Stamp in and re-hide. To get back go back to the main trial and keep going to the lake.

Have fun and good luck.
