1/17/12 Just adopted this box from the original owner Rubaduc.
This box has a small window of opportunity. DO NOT go for this at high water season, the brook is uncrossable. I also recommend NOT going during hunting season even if you dress in orange from head to toe. A great carving by RTRW awaits your visit.
From Route 16 in Lebanon turn onto Goshen Hill Road. Travel down this about 7 tenths of a mile and turn right into the Bartlett Brook Wildlife Management Area. Go down the gravel drive to the parking area on the left. Park here.
From the brown signboard look for a path that travels over a stonewall. That is the one to take. Once you go over the wall turn left and follow a wide path until you come to a field (straight ahead is a wet gully). Go left through the overgrowth (we had some tire tracks to follow) staying straight until you reenter the woods at the far end of the field. Follow this trail until it comes to a T, go right. Walk until you come to the brook. Just after crossing the brook, look right for a good sized Beech tree with two rock companions. Look behind the first one.
A letterboxer once asked me "why would a letterboxer cross a raging brook?"
To get the letterbox on the other side of course :-)
