Find your way to the blue trail at the junction of Reeds Gap Road and route 68 in Durham. Parking is limited at the trailhead, you may want to park down the hill in the dirt parking area which is at the corner of Reeds Gap and route 68. This is a busy area, so please be careful getting to the trailhead.

This is not a hike for young children and dogs should be on a leash, especially at the top.

You will be taking the blue trail to the North.

Allow about three hours for this box if you go to it and return back to your car. Longer if you continue on to Black Pond.

Follow the blue trail as it takes you up and down hills and along the edge of the mountain for some wonderful views. Keep going until you get to the powerlines. Cross under the powerlines and where the blue trail re-enters the woods, look to your left to several large rocks. Look behind the rock that is embracing a small tree for the box.

This would be a great place to stop and have a snack or lunch or just howl at the top of your lungs for no good reason.
