Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: 25 Yards (one Way)

The "Houston Astros" letterbox is located somewhat close to the spring training home of the namesake baseball team. Actually, it is placed in Blue Spring State Park, a wonderful park with great facilies. You can enjoy swimming, canoeing, camping and animal viewing (including the manatee).

Directions:
From Highway 17, go south from Orange City, and follow park signs (eventually turning west off Hwy 17). Get a park map at enterance station ($2 fee), and drive to the farthest parking area (near "Lagoon" on map. Park near hiking trail on left.

To the Letterbox:
Starting at the trailhead sign (with info on the Florida Black Bear), go 55 paces to trail split. Go left, and walk a few steps to the "Cabin Residents Only" sign. Locate the huge live oak tree at 40 degrees, about 10 yards off the trail.****** Seems the trails have changed, so keep this in mind: Split in trail is not really there anymore (overgrown). Now a small brown sign there that says "Trai" and points to the right. Thre is a slight social trail to the tree. ***** The box is located at the base of the back side of this tree, where a palmetto grows up out of the base (box is between Palmetto and tree trunk, covered with leaves, sticks and spanish moss clump). East side of tree.
