The Old Songs Festival is a folk festival which has been held at the Altamont Fairgrounds annually since 1981, on the last weekend of June. We've attended it in almost all of those years. The fairgrounds are also used for many other events throughout the year.
See www.altamontfair.com for more information.

To find the Old Songs Letterbox, first locate the Blacksmith shop (#413), which is one of the buildings at the southern end of the fairgrounds. If attending the Old Songs Festival, enter through the main ticket gate, and walk up through the craft area. The Blacksmith building is a small building, red with white stripes, across from Area 10, the "Side Street". It's just past the Farm House Museum, and before the Farm Machinery Museum.

On one side of the building, there's a rusty iron tub, with dirt inside it. Reach inside the base, on the left-hand side as you face the opening. When done stamping in, please remember to seal all four flaps of the box, and replace it far enough inside to not be seen by casual passersby.

This is the very first letterbox we've planted, after almost two years of finding other people's boxes. Feedback will be appreciated.
