This letterbox can only be found when there is very little snow left on the ground.

You can find this letterbox by hiking up from downtown Breckenridge. It will take you about 30 minutes to hike there and 20 to hike back. Go to Carter Park and take the switchback trails on the left slope (away from ski area). At the top of the switchbacks, take the Moonstone Trail by turning left and then right on an uphill trail. Do not take Jack's Cruel Joke. You will come to Moonstone Rd. Cross this paved road and continue the trail on the other side of the street. There is a brown trail marker. Start counting blue trail markers/blazes at the start of this section of trail. It's named the Barney Ford Trail. Do not take the Connector/Juniata trail. When you have counted six blazes, you should see a big hole/pit next to the trail that remains from mining days. At the sixth blaze, turn right and face the woods. Walk 15 steps to a fallen log. Look back towards the trail and look down to your left. You will find a pile of rocks.

Please reseal and rehide well as the weather conditions are severe in this area. It's also a popular trail, so hiding the box is important.

Driving Directions:
Take Wellington Road up from town. Wellington is between Extreme Pizza and Local Market. Go through several intersections and take a right on Royal Tiger Road. At the first stop sign on Royal Tiger, turn left on High Point. At the top of High Point, turn right onto Moonstone Road. Go up Moonstone Road and turn right onto County Rd 503 (CR 503). Begin looking for a trail marker on the left. If you get to Boreas Pass Rd, you've gone too far. Park on the right shoulder and begin the trail on the left side of CR 503. Start counting blue trail markers/blazes at the start of this section of trail. It's named the Barney Ford Trail. Do not take the Connector/Juniata trail. When you have counted six blazes, you should see a big hole/pit next to the trail that remains from mining days. Take 15 steps to a fallen log. Look back towards the trail and look a little to your left. You will find a pile of rocks.
