Suggestion: Bring multi-colored stamps and plenty of water

CAUTION: Rattlesnakes are found in this area. Use caution and common sense while retrieving this box. Be careful where you step and put your hands. :)

DIRECTIONS:
From HWY 97 follow signs to Cove Palisades State Park. Go into camping area to "B Loop". At the west end of "B Loop" you will find the start of your adventure.

TO THE BOX:
If your dogs wanted exercise, they could run and play and visit in this area.

After your dogs played, you can continue on a trail that will take you up 600 feet.

Luckily, you will not need to go up that high. Instead you can start traveling up a few switch backs.

You will continue past two or three signs telling you how to be nice to the environment.

Through "boulder" valley you go.

Finally coming to the first set of wooden steps.

After reaching the 2nd set of steps. Stop when you reach the top (6th step).

At about 270 degrees magnetic there will a white top poking over the rim of the canyon across the way.

At about 195 degrees magnetic you will see a juniper tree at the top of the switchback.

Behind the juniper tree lies the Cove's Treasure that you seek. Be careful searching the rocks behind the base of the tree.

If you take the box up five more minutes on the trail, you will be rewarded with a natural seating area that gives you a full view of the cove.

Please place back carefully and make sure you seal the box so water does not get inside.

Enjoy!
