East Waluga Park is on Quarry Road in Lake O. I'm not sure about the origin of the word Waluga, but I found it associated with the Free Masons. Hence the stamp.

***Sturdy shoes and insect repellent are a must. If it's wet, the trail heading up (and back down again) will be quite slippery. As always, poke with a stick first and wear gloves when searching for this box. I definitely saw poison oak on the trail.****

Find 31.02.120. Follow the trail @260 degrees up the hill. At the intersection, go 240 degrees to continue going up, up, up. At the top, stay on the trail until you pass a tall (hemlock?) tree on your left. There is a trail just past this at 80 degrees. Follow it to the maple tree with the unusually twisted trunk that is growing out of the rocks. You will be standing at an overlook with a view of a makeshift BMX dirt bike track.

I climbed down on the rocks below, but you don't have to. Decide if you want to retrieve the box from above or below. Taking the high road: On the SW side of the tree at the base, to the right of the rock that looks like it should wiggle, the box hides to the right, down inside the tree trunk. Should you choose to approach the site from below: On the NE side of the tree there is a boulder beneath the base. The box is just to the left of it.

Be sure to re-hide well.
