Special Notes: This is one of my Hit & Run Letterboxes. I like to call it a Hit and Run because these boxes are very quickly put together and planted. Because these magnetic boxes are so small and not completely waterproof (I discovered this past winter) they do not contain logbooks. Please make sure to log in your find so I know the status of the box. Please use your very best super sleuth seeking skills to not draw unwanted attention.

Location: Heritage Square – Golden, Colorado http://www.heritagesquare.info This is a small locally owned family amusement park just west of Lakewood. Approximately 17 minutes from downtown Denver. Parking and admission is free.

Directions: Take I-70 West to Exit 259, take a right, ½ mile down the road on the left.

Hours: Open Weekends from Easter to Memorial Day. Open Daily Memorial Day to Labor Day. Open Weekends September and October.

Clues: Your mission is to locate the Heritage Square Alpine Slide. It is boasted as Colorado’s Best Alpine Slide with a scenic chairlift ride. There are two tracks that are each ½ a mile long. You can locate the slide by following the signs and walking straight through the center of the old time shops that line the walkway of Heritage Square. Follow the path up the hill and head towards the Alpine Slide ticket booth. This is the second large brown building with yellow trim just past the white fence and stroller corral. Once you locate the building you will note that there are rust colored metal stairs leading to the entrance with a sign directing you to enter for the cashier, concessions and bathroom. The small black magnetic box you are seeking is under the left hand side of the first rust colored step. If you walk around the building there are picnic tables in the shade – a perfect spot to sit and log in your find. If you are in the mood for a fun thrill make sure to purchase a ticket (about $7 per person) and take a ride down the hill!

Should you note the box missing, its contents in bad repair or if you just want to say “hi” please contact me at Blackvelvetrav@yahoo.com. Happy hunting & sliding!
