This is one in a series of boxes planted in the state game lands of northeastern Pennsylvania. If you seek this box, please be aware of hunting seasons. I recommend wearing blaze orange any time of year. I don't recommend seeking this box during deer season, except on Sundays.
State Game Lands 149 is located in Foster Township, Luzerne County, just across the Lehigh River from Hickory Run State Park. The parking lot you want is on Lehigh Gorge Drive, 1.7 miles south of Tannery Road. Heading south, this rough parking lot is on the left side of the road just after an intersection with "Petrosky Lane" and "East Bend Lane."
Clues:
* From the lot, head northeast through the gate.
* Walk down the grassy road. Be sure to check for ticks when you're done.
* Pass houses on the left, then head into a pine forest.
* You'll hear and see Sandy Run beneath you.
* The road will turn to bare gravel, and go around a mound. Right after that, veer off to the right, following the trail into the woods. Continue uphill.
* When the trail levels off, spot a huge downed tree on the right. From the stump, walk along the left side of this tree five paces.
* Look in a crook between two branches, under a suspicious pile of rocks (SPOR).
* Please rehide well.
