All Monkey's are safe and sound and in place 7/21/09

NOTE: There are also two other boxes at this park: Snap Shot & Mama Bear...Good luck on your hunt

Rose Mound Park is located just south of Grand Haven. Take US 31 south to Hayes Rd, turn right on Hayes. At Lakeshore Drive turn Left. Rose Mound Park is on the right hand side. Don’t forget your camera some of the views are breath taking. There is a parking fee from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Daily passes are $6 for the day.

This park is heavily traveled. So please take great care in being discreet. Take some water and be prepared to travel many steps but the views and the park are well worth it.

It was a hot and muggy day when monkey mama Erin received the call from monkey mama Amy. Let’s take the little monkeys to Rose Mound Park so that they can go swimming and hiking. That’s a great idea Monkey mama Amy I will meet you in an hour.

As the monkey mama’s were unloading the van it suddenly became very quite. This is never good when little monkeys are involved. As the monkey mama’s turned around they discovered that all the little monkeys had taken off in different directions, and this is how the hunt begins.

At the trail head take the trail that is located at 160 degrees from this point. Starting at the fence take 160 steps to the tree with the pregnant ladies belly. What’s that I hear to the left? I hear a little monkey’s giggle. Between the two small pines tree stumps you go, taking 30 steps to the cluster of trees, looking for the pine tree in the middle of the cluster. This is where our little monkey Allie sits.

Back to the trail you head, continuing on the path for our little monkey Dave. Forward you go on the trail take the three small curves in the trail, on the third curve look for the spider tree way in the back on the left hand side. Right in the middle is where you will find David looking for his bugs.

Keep following the trail to find our next monkey Danelle. As we follow the trail looking for our next monkey we come upon a bench what a nice little bench in deed ah but we must keep following the trail to find our monkey, alas another bench keep your eyes open on the right for the large fallen tree separated in two you will find Danielle taking a snooze at the end of this tree.

Continue on the trail to find our next little monkey Caden. Traveling through the tall and proud pines we keep following the trail. We have to be getting closer to little monkey Caden. To a decision we come, 2 or 3, Caden is the third youngest monkey so let's try that trail. Let’s take that path to keep looking. Take the other path if you are done for the day. Huffing and puffing to the forest over look we head to take a break. The monkey mama’s take a seat on the bench looking to the north; wait what is that that I hear behind me. It is our little monkey Caden playing hide and seek.

On ward we go to find the little monkey Sammy. Following the trail we stop a moment to enjoy the view from the Dune view deck. We continue on to the stairs the monkey mama’s exchange a glance thinking going down may not be so bad but coming up is going to take a lot of work and energy. We have come to a decision now do we go to The Beach Area/ Rest Rooms or Beach Access/Dune Trail? Our little monkey Sammy is a beach bum so to the beach access to the west we go (she also mentioned that she needed to use the restrooms). Down the stairs to the beach we go I see her, I see her do you? On the south side of the stairs she lays catching the sunny rays.

Now for our last little monkey Breanne, we head back to the decision spot. Now Sam and Breanne are complete opposites so take the other choice. Along the White Pine Loop we go take rights when the opportunities arise. At the end of this deck where the view is awe striking you will find Breanne to the south of the bench taking her pictures of the Dune views for her My Space page.
