It has been the most bizarre spring here in the Willamette Valley. My daughter carved these stamps on a snowy cold Sunday, when it should have been warm and sunny. We are looking forward to the sunshine and carving these stamps chased away the blues.
But to the letterbox . . . when you come into Sweet Home on Highway 20/Santiam Highway from Lebanon, take a right at the first light onto Holley Road or Highway 228. Then turn left onto Oak Terrace and then right onto 8th Avenue. (You will be heading South at this point.)
When 8th Avenue ends in a T-intersection, turn right onto Alder St which becomes Old Holley Road. You will travel approximately one mile on this road. You will pass a tree farm on your right, then make a curve in the road to your left. At the second driveway after the curve, turn in and park behind the school bus stop.
From the bus stop look for where spring flowers might (should) be blooming. Visit the flowers, take time to stop & "smell the roses" and pull a few weeds, if necessary.
Look at the back side of the sign in the sixth brick from the right to find your spring treasures.
