Box replanted and clues updated 4/14/2011
Find the nature center that shares a name with the 36th president. Head for the trail named for a nocturnal predator. Follow the trail across a bridge that spans a pond. Avoid locusts like the plague. Rest on the bench overlooking the pond. At big intersection, you must choose from several trails. Why not try hopping down the bunny trail? At next decision point, go with the predator rather than the prey. Continue into a clearing. Before the overlook tower, head downhill. Right then left. Just before last corner before headwaters, look into the cut logs on left.
After carefully retrieving and replacing the box, continue the direction you’re going to follow the stream, or head back up the hill to enjoy a prairie view, and a lookout tower. Be sure to say hi to the red-tailed hawk and the orphan deer on your way out of this lovely park.
