This is a 1.1 mile loop and is easy to moderate terrain.

Take a drive to 'Wolliw Revir' State Park near Hudson, WI and bring your fishing pole.

We have often heard this park is a great place to catch trout. If you follow the clues you can catch at least one.

Once you arrive at the park and pay your state park fee continue driving into the park passing the sign for the campground, boat launch, and turn into the parking lot near the Nature Center. Enter the Trout Brook Trail (Purple Trail) across the street from the large parking lots. This trail is across from the Disc Golf / Beach sign. Enjoy a short walk until you reach a Y. At the Y stay right. Enjoy your walk along Willow River. We saw evidence of beavers chewing down trees and lots of swallows. When you come to the loop, go right.

You will come to a place where the trail splits. Take the trail to your right. You will leave the loop temporarily and walk to the river because you need to see a Sign on the opposite bank to find the box. Enjoy this short walk to the river. The day we were there we heard a turkey gobbling nearby. Once you are at the river, look at the sign on the opposite bank for the Department of Natural Resources. There are two arrows on this sign. One says Willow River, the other going the opposite way says something else. Count the letters in the two words _________ (A).

Retrace your steps back to the loop path. Turn right and continue on the loop. The trail will be relatively straight for a while. Then the path makes a hairpin turn and takes you up a hill past two purple trail markers on your right. Continue on the main path, you are getting close. You will come to a purple marker on your right where you can see another purple marker on your left a short way ahead. Standing at the purple marker on your right, take a reading of 210 degrees. Take 4 X _____(A) steps in that direction towards a multi-sister tree in a grassy area (at least it was grassy when we were there in the summer). Your catch will be waiting for you tucked into the place where the three sisters meet. Please catch and release.

When you are done, continue on the trail. You will complete the loop shortly and can turn right to follow the river trail back to your car. There are a few other catches in this park if you have some more time to explore!
