There is a primitive New York State Campground and day use area on 214 in between Hunter and Phonecia. Go to the day use area which is on the left side of road coming from Hunter. There is a 5.00 fee to use the park for the day, but if you are just stopping for a few minutes theres not alot of people and you shouldnt have to pay. WE were there for the Memorial Day weekend and there was never anyone there. It is a nice place for a picnic with barbeque grills, tables and a tiny playground. The campground is nice too.but not alot to do unless you like to hike. There are alot of trails with great views. In the day use area face the monument that is the name of the campground and then look to your right. Past the picnic tables there are two posts that look like they could be a volleyball net. In line with the posts is a big maple tree with a big hole in its trunk. Look inside the hole and its behind a piece of bark I put inside to hide it. Please rehide well.
