This box was planted for the 2nd Annual PAL (Plant A Letterbox) Day.

Located on the north side of the lake off Highway 59 in Fort Richardson State Park complex. Use Lost Creek Trailway entrance.

From the town center in Jacksboro, go East on Hwy 59, it will turn to the North. After you pass the Activity Center, you will see a sign that says: Lost Creek Trailway. Turn North into the park. there will be a fee station. Follow the One Way road into the park. You will pass the Fishing Pier and some day use campsites, all on the lakeside. You will see the restrooms on the opposite side of the lake. There is a parking lot on the lakeside. Park in this lot.

When you walk towards the pavilion, you see a post a couple of brown signs and one white sign with red letters (this one says to be safe while swimming). Standing at the signs, turn away from the lake. Across the street is a wooded area. You will see a tree that is closer to the road than all the others. On the West side of this tree is a SPOR (oddly enough, this spor was there before me). Under this spor, you will find us. Take us to the pavilion so we can watch you swim and have your picnic. If you will be so kind, please leave us well hidden under the spor so that we can stay and enjoy the lake.

If you think that some noxers might notice you taking us out of our hiding spot, feel free to wait till the coast is clear to take us out of hiding (maybe while taking a restroom break or washing off your feet).

16 of us spent Memorial Day 2008 in Jacksboro. We camped at the state park that has the fort on it, we took the tour to see the historical buildings. They are the ones that told us of this wonderful swimming hole. Most days we came here and swam. We had a delicious Mexican dinner at Casa Grande one night. We drank lots of slushies from the DQ and Sonic.

If you are the hiking type. There is a 10 mile hike that connects the fort and the reservoir. Let me know how that works out. Please be mindful of wildlife. We saw snakes, tarantula, racoons, road runners, deer, centipede. . .

The stamp is about how boxing brought our family together. I carved it for the Chicken Soup for the PLB's Postal Ring.

Enjoy your day. Before heading out, see if Wermbo and Kmbaker have boxes planted in the area. They are my boxing/camping buddies.
