This letterbox was originally created as part of a postal letterboxing ring to honor firefighters. My brother is a firefighter/fire boat captain in the city of Seattle, so I decided to dedicate this one to him. We’re all very proud!
To visit with this firefighter, go to Phillip Huber Park in Troy. Begin at the wood chip trail at the north corner of the parking lot. At the first T, turn right. Travel past some windmills, and take a small path on the left. Continue on this trail as it doubles back, passing more windmills… and then some chin-up bars. Turn right at the wall, bypass a chance to turn left, continue past the angled beam. Turn right at the Y, and you will see several logs parallel to the trail. Your hero awaits near the largest log, which is the furthest along the path. He is in a perfect location to keep an eye on the trail, without being spied himself, so please replace carefully.
