****PLEASE TAKE NOTE: THIS BOX IS UNAVAILABLE. THANK-YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.****

From Chocorua Village, go @3.1miles north on Route 16 to Scott Road. It's between mile marker 67.6 and 67.8. Turn left on to Scott Road. Go @.5miles to green railings & parking lot on right. It's a small parking lot, but it's sufficient. Walk back to green railings & cross over brook. Notice a sign that says NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES PLEASE. To the left of this sign, you should follow the yellow & green trail markers. You will come to a field. Cross this field to trail signs on backside. Follow the trail marked Heron Pond Trail. You will come to a registration box. Please feel free to sign-in & check-out to ses who else was here recently. Continue over a bridge following the green & yellow signs. You will enter the Conservation Lands. You will come to a signpost that reads Heron Pond Loop / Middle Trail. DO NOT TAKE THIS LOOP NOW. Continue on Heron Pond Trail. You will soom go up a steep hill & of course go down the steep hill. You will have first sight of the pond on the right @50' from the bottom of this hill. Also at this point, there is an "L" in the trail. From here, looking at the pond, you will see two sets of Sister trees. (one Maple, the other Oak) The treasure you seek, is nestled in the "V" of Sister Oak. You may continue on the trail around the pond if you wish, or backtrack the way you came in. Enjoy the pond. As always, we ask that you rehide what you have found.
