Adult Directions

➢ Start at the big brick church sign and face the church. [The church is thought to have been named after the Moravian Brethren who came through here ass missionaries from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.]
➢ Go left and go to the 2nd tree by the gravel road.

➢ Did you know that in December 1749, they recorded staying at the Adam Miller Place and preaching in the “Mesanoten” community east of Peaked Mountain?

➢ Walk to the cement ramp beside the church.
➢ Walk to the light pole.
➢ Then walk to the big tree.
➢ Now walk to the telephone pole.
➢ Walk to the stop sign.

➢ The Army of the Valley marched so far and fast during the spring of 1862, they would earn the nickname of “Jackson’s Fact Cavalry.” Always anxious for the spiritual condition of his men, Jackson insisted on chaplains taking advantage of Sunday, even when the enemy was close at hand and likely to attack. “I remember several times when our service was disturbed by shells flying over us and breaking up our meeting”, the artillery private recalled.

➢ Go to the sidewalk and follow it to the wooden stairs.
➢ Turn to the right and take 3 steps.
➢ Stand in the flowerbed and stand between the stairs and the little plant.
➢ Look to your left and search below.

➢ Since about 1882, there has been an organization of the Brethren Church in Rockingham County. They, at present, have 4 houses of worship: one in Dayton; Bethlehem a mile and a half southwest of Harrisonburg; Mount Olive near McGaheysville and one at Elkton east of Tenth Legion.

➢ Stand at the BIG brick church sign and look at the BIG red brick church. [The church is thought to have been named after the Brethren brothers who came through here as people who go places and speak at churches about other churches from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.]
➢ Turn south and skip to the 2nd tree at the gravel road. If there are pretty pink flowers on it, pick one. ☺
➢ Did you know that in December of 1749 the Brethren brothers recorded staying at the Adam Miller Place? They preached in a community east of Peaked Mountain.
➢ Follow the gravel road to the cement ramp.
➢ Run to the light pole and touch it.
➢ Walk to the big tree and how old you are is how many times you walk around it.
➢ Crawl to the telephone pole on the corner.
➢ Then march to the stop sign.

➢ Take 11 giant steps to the sidewalk and follow it to the wooden stairs.
➢ Spin around in a circle 4 times.
➢ Turn north and take 2+1 step, and stand between the stairs and the little plant.
➢ Turn to the left and look to the ground for the answer.
