SEASONAL LETTERBOX AVAILABLE MAY 15th THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30TH

In a beautiful water setting, on the shores of Lake Superior, Fishy Tales hides out beneath the rocks! This letterbox is not difficult to walk to. It is only a short 20 pace walk to its secretive place in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, near Silver City, Michigan.

To find Fishy Tales; having arrived at the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, drive to the Union Bay Campground on the northeast side of the park, 1 mile west of the entrance sign of the park, on highway M-107. Turn right, onto the Union Bay campground road. Drive to the ranger station and stop. A motor vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased from the ranger if you do not already have one. Then, drive straight ahead to the boat launch road and turn right, onto the boat launch road. Drive to the first parking area and park your car (if you are camping in the campground, or are at the Folk School or Kaug Wudjoo Lodge, you can just walk over to this location). Now, walk down to the boat launch area & into the second parking lot (there are only 2 parking spaces in this parking lot, which is to your left). From the second parking lot, walk straight ahead 10 paces to the white pine tree. From the white pine tree, walk 10 paces more, straight ahead, to the poplar tree (aspen tree) that has it's root system on top of the rocks out of the soil. You can see the whole root system! Under the tree, hiding behind the rocks, is Fishy Tales! Good Job!
