From hanover, Take Route 216 E to Bankard Road, turn right.Follow Bankert Road approx. 1/2 mile and turn left into park entrace for the bike trails. (the entrance is on the left as the road curves right) Drive around the gravel loop to the right and face West with the park information sign on your right. Look to the W/N/W corner of the parking area and locate Trail #1 sign. Walk through the opening in the fance. (notice the safety zone sign at the entrance.) Pass 3-4 fallen conifers in a group on your left overlapping the trail. Walk until you come to a "T". Stay on trail #1 to yur left. You will come to a crossroads, stay straight, passing a orchard/meadow area on your right. The trail curves left and forks. Take the dirt fork to your right. You will see another safety zone sign immediately on your left if you are on the right trail. Take the next right turn you come to on this trail. Cross over the fallen tree on the trail and notice 2 trees with corkscrew on their trunks.(one brken off and one not) on your right. Continue walking, soon you will come to another "T", there should be a maple tree with 4 trunks directly in front of you. Turn right. Continuing on the path you will see an enormous elm tree on your left with a 2 foot board nailed on it about 15 feet up. A large square shaped rock is on the trail at this point. From this rock, count 60 steps, going between 2 more large trees as you are counting. The trail now forks. Take the right fork and walk 16 steps. You will find yourself between 2 trees with a limb under your feet. Turn and face West.(or right which ever is easier for you) Walk 24 more steps straight ahead. Your treasure is hiding in a large jagged stump. Hope you enjoyed the walk as this is a very peaceful area.
