Where is it – Holt Hill, Charles Ward Reservation.
Prospect St., off Rte 125, Andover.
For trail map and more information on Ward Reservation, visit link http://www.thetrustees.org/pages/371_ward_reservation.cfm

You can park in the Trustees of the Reservations parking area on Prospect St., right hand side of the road.

Terrain – Easy, slightly hilly and maybe a bit muddy at times.

Distance – Less than a mile.

Stamp - Hand-carved.

The Wild Calla Letterbox-

Follow the signs that say "Bog" near the parking area. Continue to follow the path to the right of the house. Follow signs for the bog, staying right at the first fork (about 100 yards into the woods). Follow the path to the right down a small hill until you reach the start of the self-guided bog tour. Take a laminated card and start your bog journey, watching closely for the Wild Callas along the way.

As you return from the bog, stop at the end of the boardwalk. Facing the large hill directly in front of you, look to your right and walk into the woods. If you have a compass, face 100 degrees. Approximately 50 feet away is a large fallen tree that is heavily decayed. Make your way to the stump of the fallen tree. Once at the stump, turn directly back toward the bog, and you will find a tree with two trunks split at the base just a few feet away. Look around at the base of the tree, and hidden beneath some rocks, you will find the Wild Calla letterbox. Please rehide the box with fallen branches, rocks, and ground cover so it's well hidden. Enjoy!
