Welcome to the second letter box left by Den 12. We really practiced our compass skills on this one! Look to Track Pack 1 for the starting directions, but this time take the right fork (north east) off the Osgood Hill Trail. Caution, this trail is not shown on the North Andover trails map.

At a broken tree that forms an arch over the trail, take 21 paces to a large rock on your left. Turn southeast (uphill off the trail) for 50 paces until you come to a birch tree with peeling bark. Take a compass reading and head east. Go past a fallen tree and a moss covered rock.

When you hit the trail, turn right and follow the trail. Look for a tree with a hole in the bottom on the right side of the trail. Find two stacked rocks on the left. Look for a fallen tree that has been cut to open the trail. Look for a rock wall crossing the trail. The trail ends at a large field (Half Mile Hill).

Head due south to the large tree. From the tree turn southeast. Go approximately 42 to 45 paces to a patch of rocks. From the large tree with 2 thin dead brances at the edge of the rocks, turn northeast. Go 37 paces to a broken birch tree with wood pecker holes and peeling bark. Search at the base of the tree for the box. Did you find all the landmarks? Let us know by leaving a note in the box. Once you are done, head to the top of the hill for a terrific view!
