'Grandma is an Indian' is hidden at Whittemore Cemetery in the town of Scriba.

To get there from Oswego take 104 East through the business district pass Walmart and Lowe's on your left. At the second right past Lowe's, County Route 53 (Broadway Road to the locals) turn right. Head south on 53 to Lansing Corners. Notice the old church to your right. The 4 way stop is Lansing Corners. Turn left onto County Route 4 (Hall Road). As you are traveling east on the Hall Road notice the large rolling fields to your right. You will see a cluster of big white buildings. At this intersection turn right onto Myers road. As you head south again you will have a swamp on your left. Stay on Myers Road,
at Y intersection bear right over Black Creek (this is still Myers Road). From the intersection travel 1.8 miles up over the big hill. Whittemore Cemetery is on your left. Pull off the road onto the left shoulder. There is no driveway into the cemetery but plenty of room on the shoulder to park your vehicle.

Enter the cemetery through the iron gate. Ahead and to your right you will see Mr. Springer's headstone kind of leaning against a small tree. His body was interred to Arlington National Cemetery as he was a hero during the Civil War.
As you walk into the cemetery turn left. Please take a moment to visit the graves of the Crouches, this is the mingo's family. Notice how many people are buried on top of one another. Walk past the Crouches to the corner of the fence. Turn right. Follow the split rail fence. Notice Joyce Crouch's stone, it is the black one. Behind her stone you will see three smaller stones, Clayton is buried between his first wife Gertrude and second wife Mima. Mima is the grandma this box is dedicated to. Walk in front of these headstones and soon you will come to Clayton and Eleanor. There is a white urn next to their headstone. Turn left. See the 8 trunked tree? Walk to this tree and look to your left. Behind the second fence post under a rock and some myrtle is grandma.

We hope you enjoy this letterbox as it is our first.
Mingo carved it.

Have a lovely day!
