Letter Boxing Directions for Audults.
Step 1. Go on Main Street in Broadway and get dropped off at Ben franklin.
Step 2. Walk South until you get across from WW Motors Cars & Paris.
Step 3. Walk South again until you reach J Frank Hillard Garden. Get off Main Street and go on Broadway Ave.
(Fun Fact…… Did you know that the first school in Broadway was a one-room frame building located where the current town office building is now located on Broadway Ave? )
Step 4. Keep going straight up the hill past the road to the library look for a wall beside the sidewalk.
Step 5. Go past the big retaining wall beside the sidewalk and keep walking on that same sidewalk.
(Fun Fact…… Did you know that The school was constructed in the mid 1800’s and was taught by C.E. Barglebaugh, who was eighteen years old at the time?)
Step 6. Cross the road when the sidewalk ends.
Step 7. Walk past A.G.R.I of Virginia Inc.
(Fun Fact……. Did you know that in 1913, Broadway became an accredited high school with an enrollment of 18 pupils and one teacher, John C Myers?)
Step 8. Walk until you get to the Welcome to Broadway sign.
Step 9. Cross the road and go East 259. “Watch out for traffic.”
(Fun Fact……. Did you know that Mr. Barglebaugh taught the school from 1882-1889.)
Step 10. Go to the light and cross the road to West alternate 259. Keep walking up the hill and when you are ontop of the hill you should be able to see Broadway High School.
Step 11. Go to the main entrance of Broadway High School building and go down to the memory garden.
Step 12. Look closely in the garden to find the box.
