From downtown Traverse City follow main road (west bay shore drive)along the Grand Traverse Bay heading toward Suttons Bay. When you come to Toms grocery store (corner of 72) continue straight following the bay. Soon you will come to a road on your left across from the marina, Grandview Rd, with a ice cream shop on one corner and a gas station on the other. Turn left on this road and park in the back of the ice cream shops parking area.Walk up Grandview road a short distance passing two side roads, Briar and Sunset, on your right. Next you will come to the "T.A.R.T" trail (a bike and hiking trail made from the old railroad tracks).Turn right onto the trail and you will see a small wooden bridge crossing the creek. Just before crossing the bridge veer off to the left, aprox.5 steps in there is a large Beech tree with a small whispy pine growing right up next to it. The box is located here beneath the pine. Please rehide carefully , this is a popular trail. I HAVE NOT ENCLOSED A INK PAD, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN. In the fall you are likely to see salmon swimming up stream here, even though it is shallow they come year after year.
