Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs has hidden Public Art Caches near pieces of public art all around Orange County. This hunt was created in an effort to let more citizens experience public art through an exciting and adventurous journey around Orange County. We hope that, long after you track down one of our Caches, you will continue your search for art.

CITRUS SKY

The Cache that you seek is hidden inside a building full of books. Some say you can see snow here in Winter over a Garden. This brightly colored large-scale mobile hangs gracefully above the main seating area in the westernmost Orange County Public Library. The children's section of this library contains the artist's original, considerably smaller, mock-up of Citrus Sky. (Don’t go to the children’s section to look for the cache, you won’t find it there.) The artist, John Robert Wolfe graduated from Rollins college.

When you enter this building look up and you will see oranges in the sky. From this art piece your journey begins. Go to the front desk and wish a librarian a good day and tell her what you like about the mobile. Then turn around and walk to the first book case. Look on the bottom shelf to the right for a book of plays with the library code “A Treasure.” You will know what to do next when you open the cover.

When you’re done, please place it back gently where you found it for the next hunter that comes along.

Please note business hours: Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed on Sunday.

Please feel free to send an e-mail to terry.olson@ocfl.net or call us at (407) 836-5540 to let us know about your hunting experience. If you could not find the cache, please let us know.
