Moomers Homemade Ice Cream grew from a love for ice cream and an idea for a small family business. For Bob and Nancy Plummer, living on a dairy farm gave Moomers a natural location. Their hope was to provide a unique product in a country atmosphere, to share the world of agriculture with others, employ local young adults and to provide a family oriented place to enjoy with family and friends.

In April of 1998, the doors opened. This ice cream adventure has grown steadily since then. It is common sight to see lines out the door every night of the summer! They have been featured in numerous articles and magazines. Moomers is a retail as well as wholesale business. If you haven't yet been to Moomers it is well worth the trip. If you have, now is the time to return.

Directions:

From Traverse City: W. Front St. eventually turns into N. Long Lake Rd. From the intersection of Cedar Run Rd. and N. Long Lake Rd. take N. Long Lake Rd. approximately 4 miles. Moomers will be on your left.

Clues:

Coffee Toffee, Coconut Almond Delight,
Cherry Cheesecake, they always get it right.

So many flavors, so hard to decide,
order your treat then head outside.

Watch the cows lazily graze,
take in the animals, crops and the hay.

Now turn around and face the market,
walk to the edge of where people park it.

To your left you will see little pines,
go past the second, you're doing fine.

The next coniferous shelters what you seek,
be disreet, be sneaky, while you take a peak!

Enjoy your whole trip. PLEASE make sure you re-hide the box well! Rit5
