Kensington Metro Park - Nature Center. Closest to the I-96 Kensington Rd. exit.
$4/5 entry fee or $25 for annual pass. No dogs on the Nature Trails. Baby Jogger friendly. Less than a mile walk so its good for small kids to burn off some energy. NEED A COMPASS.

~~~~Bring some wild bird seed for a bonus.~~~~~~~~~
1. Start at the Nature Center on the Tamarack/Deer Run trails. "Trail Starts"
2. Along the trail read the signs, see "A forest Cafeteria" this is the stamp you seek.
3. At the end of the next bridge is an intersection: Tamarack or Deer Run, travel NORTH. Don't RUN a head before checking your compass.
4. "Notice what is ours". poem on a sign
5. Once you find a sign of the "Distant Drummer" keep going unless you see a drummer. I'd like a picture of a real one since I haven't been able to see one yet. Maybe you could email me the photo.
6. Now here is the tricky part, hope we don't loose you. Turn Right at the next intersection Tamarack/Deer Run. Dont go down the chickadee path. A shelter is way way up a head on a hill top for a rest. Have a seat and check that compass for 90 degrees down the hill to the "swamp shortcut".
7. Not long now, the stamp is coming up soon but keep going around the bend. A long fat tree lays on the ground to the left of the trail (2stumps). Sit on the small stump & set your compass on the center of the fat stump with your bird seed. 40 degrees & 20-25paces from the trail - 8 foot log has a hole on top (no more hole, its caved in and the stump is broken apart) so check out that big fallen tree split instead.
If you pass the Happy Birthday Bench, you have gone too far.
Please re-hide and let me know if we need to do any repairs. Thank You.
~~~~~~enjoy the birds and wild life~~~~~~~~~

8. keep going down the path to exit out at the entrance.

My one year old picked this stamp, this is our first box & we are working on some hand carvings for our next.

Hike Length: 1.0 miles but it took us an hour or more, slow walkers?
