This letterbox journey starts in Me-Ka-Mooks Park on Beach Drive in West Seattle. Once you have arrived at the park, spend some time enjoying the scenery. Now, your adventure begins...

Find the quote……

”Every Part Of This Country

Is Sacred To My People

Every Hillside, Every Valley,

Every Plain And Grove

Has Been Hallowed

By Some Fond Memory

Or Sad Experience Of My Tribe”

Chief Sealth

Look South-East and you’ll see a lone evergreen tree. Inside its branches you’ll find the symbol of a wolf.

Wolves are considered by American Indians to be teachers or pathfinders. The area is open to the public and during the summer is popular with picnickers and dog walkers, so please be discreet to help maintain its location.

When replacing the letterbox please do so carefully so as not to damage the tree branches. Thanks!

This letterbox celebrates our own wolf “Ricky”, a Husky/German Shepherd, who leads us down new paths and teaches us everyday.
