These three boxes were placed in Whipporwill Park. They are a sarcastic honor of Chappaqua's famous residents. The third box is for adults only. Please be aware that this is not meant to be an attack on the famous family. This should not be visited if you feel you will be offended by it. The third box is the face of someone he was in trouble for lying about. This can also be a lesson about right and wrong decisions for married people. People make mistakes. You may feel it is not an appropriate discussion to have with young children.
Park in Whipporwill Park. Follow the red trail down the hill to the bottom. At the intersection of the blue trail off to your right are a large amount of fallen trees. Manuever around this and enter the trail a bit further up on the red trail. You will come to a break in the "old" stone wall. On your right you will see a large oak tree next to a wall. A round yellow dot is marks the tree. At the base of the tree, in the wall a white boulder marks the spot that you will find box #1. Follow the trail, until you get to the crest of a small hill. On your left just off the path is box #2. Hidden in the base of an old trunk that looks like a "tee pee". Three dead trees lay on their sides sloping down the hill. Back to the trail, make the right turn and follow trail. (no markings) Walk through an evergreen forest. Make a right at bottom of slope. This is the Yellow trail. At the second yellow marker on your left ( a dead oak and a hemlock next to it) Just past 2-3 big white oaks is a Red Swamp Maple. Approx. 25 feet off of the trail. The third box sits in one of the many holes and towards the backside of tree. It's opening is covered by 2 sticks and some leaves. Back to trail, Make a left onto the blue trail to the way out.
