Hike Distance?

I love the littlest pet shop pets. When I heard about all the dogs that were coming to Double Lake Recreation Area, near Coldspring, Texas, I just had to find one of my favorite littlest pet dogs and invite him to this wonderful event. I call him Mr. Bobbles, because his head is always bobbling.

If you are coming from Houston on Highway 59, look for the Coldspring exit (Highway 2025) and take it north about 15 miles to the Double Lake Recreation Area on the right, just before you get to the town of Coldspring.

To the Box:
Go in and pay the fee, then drive into the park. Keep to the right at the intersection and park at the end by beautiful Double Lake. Walk toward the lake and take the asphalt path that runs alongside the lake, keeping the lake on your right. Soon you will come to a trail intersection with a trailhead sign giving information about the Lone Star Trail. Turn right and you will see an LST trail marker on the right, just up the trail. Take the side trail to the right for about 50 adult steps and look for a dead log on the right side. The near end of the log is hollow and partially hidden by a bush. Mr. Bobbles is resting inside the log, covered with a piece of bark. When you have met him, please place him back as you found him and cover him up with the bark so he won't be seen by other passers-by. Thank you.
