This is the first letterbox we placed, so it should be fairly easy to find. It is located in Ott Biological Preserve, located in Emmett Township, just east of Battle Creek.

Start at the north end of the parking lot. Head due north until you reach the first intersection (which has a bench and garbage can). With this and all Y or T intersections, you'll need to decide which is the right way to go.

Head down this trail and pass a bench on the left, followed by a tree with five trunks.

At the next intersection, which has another bench, you'll know the way to go.

Now, you'll be traveling on the esker. Take some time to enjoy the surroundings. You might notice a big pile of fallen trees on your right. As you proceed, you'll also notice some trail markers, a green one to the left and a white one to the right.

Shortly beyond these markers, you'll see a second large tree with five trunks, but this one will have a large fallen tree laying beside it. (If you've passed four benches, you've gone too far.)

Search at the northwest end of this downed tree. There you'll find leaves galore.

Please be sure to hide the letterbox again like you found it.

Thank you!
