From route 79 south, coming from Durham center, turn right onto Sand Hill Road and then an immediate left onto Pisgah Road, go for about half a mile (you might see blue blazes along the way) and park along the road on the right just past the trail head. Don’t block the mailbox, the mailman has a job to do.

Gizz stumbled upon this trail and we only had these two boxes with us so I planted them. Allow an hour and a half (less for fast hikers) the trail continues on to Cream Pot Road (as we found out the hard way :-) so you could spot a car there and have a wonderful through hike and maybe leave some boxes behind.

Take the blue trail in an upwards direction, through some laurel, uphill some more, through more laurel (this should be called Laurel Mountain) and when you get to where you “feel” you’re almost at the top and are walking with a tall long ledge to your right, look on top of the ledge for a leaning two sister tree with exposed roots. Look in the southern end of the roots for Baby Snoroo..

Continue on blue going gently down, turn left with ledges on both sides. Twist and turn uphill until you REALLY come to the top. What a view (I've been told that with foliage on the trees the view is nil) enjoy, relax and then continue on blue coming to a few more “tops” before starting to descend steeply. At a point where the trail levels out briefly, look sharply right to see a boulder slide. Look under the overhang of the second one in for Little Green Bug (someone’s lost signature stamp? If so, let me know). If you get to a vista sign, you went too far.

Bring green ink.
