~You will need to find your way to the Deborah and Edward Ames Property.
"The 70-acre Deborah and Edward Ames property entrance is located across the street from Pfeiffer’s garage on Whippoorwill Road and about one hundred yards north of the bridge over I-95. Parking for several cars is available just north of the parking area for Pfeiffer’s garage. Be careful crossing the street as sight lines are poor." -from the town of Old Lyme website.

You will need multi-colored markers to get the same image as what is in the log book or if you prefer you can do them a solid color.

After parking and carefully crossing the road, walk along the trail. You will come to culvert and possibly running water. It was running quite well today, but was very easy to cross.

Next you will encounter a cedar gate. Go around this and continue on. Soon on your left you will see a map board and the beginning of the White/Green Dot trail ( I wonder where this one goes...)

Continue on the trail going around the next cedar gate until you come to a sign for the Loop Trail-White/Red Dot. Do not go any farther as this is the end of the preserve and beyond here is private property.

Take this right and start going uphill. Just as you are about to crest the hill and power line poles are in front of you. look right. You should see a good size two sister tree. Go to it and look on the left side under some rocks and leaves for Box #1 Books. This is one of the very first "scary" books that I ever read. Please re-hide this box well.

Continue on over the hill and down the other side, turning right with the trail at the bottom.

Keep following the trail and sporadic blazes until you are about to go up a steep hill. Stop and look to your left. Notice a large stump a little off trail. Go to it and look at the base on the backside to find Box #2 Movies. This is a dark take on a favorite childhood movie of mine. Please re-hide this box well.

Continue on the trail until you come to a "T" intersection . Turn left here and head back to your car.

I hope you enjoyed the "dark side".

Flutterby~
