Tangletown Box along Minnehaha Creek — in storage

The wooden walkway where the box is hidden is fenced off until 2010 for reconstruction. We are looking for another spot to hide the box — until then the box at our house for a badly needed cleaning (box was very muddy, contents were dry).

This part of Minneapolis is know as "Tangletown" due to the many twists and turn in the roads around Minnehaha Creek. Start at Lyndale Avenue (north side of the creek) and Minnehaha Parkway, head west. Follow the bike/foot path, it will curve left, sharp downhill curve towards the creek. At the bottom, spot marker 4.7, follow the "foot path" to the left until you are heading east. Follow the creek foot path, which will take you under the Lyndale bridge. After the bridge there is another wooden walkway. Look up to your left for an old limestone wall. Follow the wall until you see a new section with smooth bricks (about 1/2 way up the wooden walkway). The box is hidden above the new wall to your left, under a large irregular shaped piece of concrete. The creek has VERY high foot traffic, hide the box well!

Look for the note from the "wall repair men" who found the box and hid it for us when they fixed the wall in August of 2008.

Greetings from Snoopy's troop!
