WATER WAS VERY HIGH TODAY AND MADE TWO STREAM CROSSINGS DIFFICULT, BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

Park at John J. Tynan Park in Middletown, Ct…route 66 to Higby Road, which is right next to the Red Dog Saloon. Follow Higby Road to the stop sign and right after the stop sign take a left into the parking area.
From I-91 take Country Club Road to Higby Road and the park will be on your right just before the stop sign.

Take the red/blue trail from the western corner of the park crossing through open fields before entering the woods. Stay on red/blue until the Y intersection at the blue trail merge. Go left on blue, cross bridge, go uphill, trail levels out and becomes mostly flat with just some gradual ups and downs. Pass a rock filled stump on the left and the uphill becomes a bit more than gradual eventually getting quite steep once again. When the trail levels out you’ll have a trap rock hill to the right and then go gradually downhill to a right turn. Before turning with the trail, go left 15 to 20 steps and look right, up a small knoll for the second two sister tree. Look in the crotch for box number one carved by RTRW. This box once attended an infamous Christmas party, so already has some boxers logged into it.
Back to the blue trail and uphill, past the now infamous pile of rocks. At the next double blaze go left and eventually come to the natural bridge. Continue on blue until you descend into a “bowl” with a bit of view to the right and a ledge high up on the left. In the leftish most end of the ledge behind a trap door is box number two (carved by Gizz).
(if you want to use your compass, it’s 75 degrees from the brand new blaze at the foot of the hill).
Continue on or go back, but rehide the box first.
