To the heavens and our fellow creatures...
This letterbox is a memorial to the Chickasaw Nation. The first constitution of the Chickasaw Nation was ratified in 1856. A new constitution was ratified in 1983. The seat of the tribal government is located in Ada, Oklahoma.

Chickasaw warriors painted their faces for ceremonies and war, the color and design indicating their clan association. They wore ear and nose ornaments and decorated their heads and shoulders with eagle feathers and a mantle of white swan feathers, the ultimate badge sought by every warrior.

More information on the Chickasaw Nation can be found at http://www.chickasaw.net

The Wintersmith Park Historic District, known locally as Wintersmith Park is located at 18th Street and Scenic Drive in Ada, Oklahoma. The area is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Take 18th street heading east. Turn right onto Wintersmith Drive. Continue on Wintersmith Drive passing the small zoo on your left side. The lake will be on your right. After passing the zoo look for a black metal sign marking a "Wild Flower Sanctuary." Park across the street from the sanctuary in the small gravel parking lot. Cross the street and head up the concrete path to the east. Continue on this path until you come to "Brian's footsteps." Brian has already led the way to your treasure! Follow the steps until they disappear, turn right and take 6 paces to a triangle of small trees. In the middle of the triangle, hidden under rocks, you will find your treasure!
