Description:
The Old Pioneer Cemetery was officially established in 1815 after the land was given to the Presbyterian Church by Abram Griswold in 1930. One stipulation of the deeed to the church stated the land was to always be used as burial grounds for all sects and denominations.

Some stones have been moved and placed in the Green Hill Cemetery in the 1920's when excavations of a nearby sand pit encroached upon the cemetery & dislodged several graves

This letterbox is to honor the men buried here who fought in the Revolutionary War, Civil War and the War of 1812.

Directions:
East Main Street in the village of Dryden,NY. At the traffic light go toward Virgil on Rt. 392. Just pass Eckerds store on the left will be the Cemetery marked by a white sign. Park in the Empire Livestock parking lot. The trail into the cemetery is well marked by the road.

Clues:
Find the headstones of the two sisters who died two years apart and were exactly the same age down to the day, 2 years and 11 days old. With your back to the head stone look to your right. There you will see a three trunked tree marking the corner of the cemetery. Look in the center of the trunks to find what you seek.
