On an obscure internet website: http://www.subversiveelement.com/AliensNordicsSerpentShapeShifter.html one finds a cryptic warning about aliens and strange happening on the Old Toll Road connecting the Hopland and Lakeport/Kelseyville areas. Weird creatures from other planets as well as from beneath the surface of the earth. Long lines of black cars sixty to seventy years ago which disappear off the face of the planet and into boulders, the black cars never to be seen again. Oh, it’s a scary world, isn’t it? The Old Toll Road used to be the only way by road between this part of the two counties, Mendocino and Lake. Now the road can only be accessed in its totality by four wheel drive. Surely the claims on this site are true? Right?

Today vehicular traffic travels via Highway 175, not exactly a modern thoroughfare, but nonetheless a relatively normal road. The Old Toll Road is off of Highway 175 and your letterbox job today will be to find the Old Toll Road, locate your letterbox and hurry on by so as not to disturb or annoy any lingering aliens.

From Highway 101 in Hopland take Highway 175 in the direction of Lakeport. After a mile or so go round and maybe round again, but stick to your task and keep heading toward Lakeport. After a few miles more or less you’ll note the Old Toll Road on your right. If you pass Pratt Ranch Road on your left you’ve gone too far and you should turn around. Anyway, whatever you do when you get to the Old Toll Road don’t turn in!!!! Who knows what could happen to you?!? Instead, park on 175 near the entrance to the Old Toll Road. Quietly assemble your letterboxing equipment and shut your door gently. No talking. Walk down the road a short way and over the water. Note the fiber optics cable warning (We know what’s really being warned about!) to your left. Turn in here at a ninety degree angle from the road. Observe what is probably alien trajectory equipment within a few feet. Peer carefully in and you will see what must be a rusty old alien fuel cell container. In there (if you have the nerve) is your prize, the Alien Avoidance Letterbox. Please replace as found.
