I planted this box for my Girl Scout Troop to help introduce them to letterboxing. They loved it and I think they will continue to box. I hope you enjoy ‘Playing Around’ also.
Directions to Box:
Exit I–20 at HWY 314 and go north into Van, TX. Turn RT onto Main St and go several miles to Chestnut St. There will be a sign on the left for the Van Community Center and Ball Park. Turn LF onto Chestnut St and turn into the driveway for the soccer parking just past the Community Center. Just as you pull in there are 2 small pavilions with picnic tables on your left. Park next to the 2nd pavilion. Stand with your back to the BBQ pit facing North. Look to the West and you will see a hardwood tree next to the fence line. Walk 20 steps to the hardwood tree and Playing Around is hidden behind the hardwood under leaves and twigs. Watch out for the thorny plants. Please re-seal and re-hide well. This park can be high traffic during Soccer and Baseball seasons. Be sure to look for “Oil Boom” which is nearby.
