Bicentennial Park hits home for me because I was living in Brooklyn, right across the river from the World Trade Center, on 9/11/01. A few days after the towers fell, I remember sitting underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at night and just staring at the gouge that was taken out of the formerly-bright skyline. And endless column of smoke rose from the city, and later on the smoke was replaced by two floodlights towering up into the clouds to represent the fallen towers.

So, in honor of those who lost their lives, their livelihoods, and/or their innocence on that day, I've placed “Brooklyn Bridge” here in the park.

If you continue on the path and walk over to the gazebo, you can take a look at the Let Freedom Bloom bench, in remembrance of 9/11. This is also a great spot to stamp in.
