Everyone has their own idea of what Santa Clause looks like, depending on what part of the country you live in. In the north, many probably see him as the classic big guy in a red suit, but it should come as no surprise that many of us Texans see him wearing a cowboy hat and boots with spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle. So come see my version of Santa, along with many other Christmas-themed boxes, at Kleb Woods Nature Preserve, a great little park in northwest Harris County.
Directions:
From Houston, go northwest on Hwy 290 to Mueschke Rd. Go north a few miles and turn left on Draper (just before FM 2920) to the southern part of Kleb Woods Nature Preserve on the left.
Clues:
From the parking lot, head south on the trail to the Nature Center on the left. Walk around it on the right side, past the butterfly garden and Farm Trail entrance to the Nature trail, directly behind the building. Head east for a little way to the first trail jct to the left. Go north on this trail for about 45 steps to an old windmill on the left. Continue walking north off trail for about 12 steps to a medium pine tree. The camo letterbox is on the back side at base of tree under a brick and pine needles. Please replace as described.
